Garland Power and Light Solar Incentives

Garland Power and Light (GP&L) is offering incentives to GP&L customers who install solar panels on their homes in 2014.  Information about the program can be found at:

GP&L is offering a utility bill credit to encourage GP&L customers to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that meet the program requirements.  The credit is $3 per watt installed up to a maximum of $5,000.  The offer is good through September 30, 2014 or until funds are exhausted.

Solarize Garland - Getting Started

The Solarize Garland group is just starting to get organized.  We are a grassroots organization of Garland citizens, whose purpose is to increase awareness and use of solar energy for electricity generation in Garland.  Right now we are small, but hope you can join us to help us grow.

One of the objectives of the group is to organize solar group purchases.  A group purchase is a way to get discounted prices on solar installations in a neighborhood, community or city.  We are following the Solarize model used in other cities including Plano.  We are working with the Solarize Plano group so we can leverage their experience in organizing and completing a Solarize project.
